Aliens: Fireteam Elite PS4 PS5- Crashing with Error | How to FIX the Crash

Aliens Fireteam Elite is finally out on all platforms and the game did get some good reviews.  However, there is a bit of a concern as the game keeps crashing most of the time. At Startup or at any particular point in the game. There are a few ways you can actually fix this.

Let’s understand why a game could crash on your PlayStation :

  • The Software or the game is not updated.
  • You Disconnect while in-game
  • Problem with saving files
  • Database Errors

In order to check for updated software on your system just go to Settings on your console menu and Select System Software Update

In case of Save File Issues (PS4 only) :

The best thing you could do is to remove all the locally save files for that particular game. All you need to do is to go to Settings on the console menu. Next would be to look for Storage. Once you click n that you would have to click on Saved Data. Then select the game for this case we select Aliens: Fireteam Elite and then press the options button on the controller. From you have to choose all the saved files since we do not know which one could be corrupted and delete them all. Remember that you would lose all your locally saved content which is basically your settings and offline content (if any).

For Database Issues try this : (Works for both PS4 and PS5)

Database issues are pretty common with consoles nowadays. The PS4 and the PS5 to date suffer from frequent database issue which needs to be fixed almost every week. Do the steps I am about to tell you once every week and you would not face database errors again. Normally the apps which you would try to run would crash since the database is not able to find the required data to run the game. What we call linking the right data with the right app. Rebuilding the whole database would fix this instantly.

Simply turn off your PlayStation 4 or 5 console. Then press and hold the power button for 10 secs until you hear two beeps. Let go on the second beep and the console will boot up in Safe Mode.  Connect your controller with the USB and press the PS button. After that just select the Rebuild Database option displayed on the screen. Time taken will roughly depend on your storage.

Also, try to clear the Cached Data from your console (both PS4 and PS5). Just unplug everything from your console. Leave it unplugged for 5 minutes. Then just plug it back and turn the console on.

There you go, easy steps that will definitely help you fix any crash-related problems with Aliens Fireteam Elite on your PlayStation console. If this guide was useful do let us know in the comment section. Thank you.

  1. I have a ps4 console and downloaded all the updates to Aliens Fireteam Elite. I have continuous crashes when I use the incinerator heavy weapon. As soon as I use the incinerator during the game it crashes! It truly sucks because I love using the flamethrower!

    Thanks

    1. I thought I was the only one! The game was running fine until I started using the flamethrower and it crashed twice! It sucks because I need a heavy damage weapon to complete this difficult mission against these powerful Synths robots and I can’t use the flamethrower or the game will crash!!!

  2. I tried the second suggestions bc my brother tried the first one and he had to start over, plus he tried the other suggestions.
Well it did fine through one gameplay and is now doing the same thing. Stopping during play and keeping taking my challenge cards.
