Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – How to find the Cloak and Use it Properly

Let’s be honest, we miss the old classic assassin-style game of the franchise. How we would use our hidden blade to kill the target and then blend in the crowd and escape undetected. Felt epic every time we would escape after a murder and no one would have a clue about it.

However, the new action RPG style gameplay brought a lot of new content which is poles apart from what we used to get before. But this Valhalla brings back an aspect of the previous games – the Cloak. Yes, it is there and we all need to find it as soon as possible. This is how we get it.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – How to find the Cloak and Use it Properly

We need to wait until the Birthrights mission is unlocked to get the cloak. Basim, one of the Hidden Ones hands it over to us. The mission does teach how to use to cloak but it isn’t a proper guide, to be honest.

The cloak basically helps us move about without being detected. I mean, of course, people can see a person in broad daylight moving around wearing a cloak. They just don’t feel that you might be the one to watch out for. But if you create a scene or do anything stupid, you are most likely to blow out your cover. So what must we keep in mind when we use the cloak :

  • Do not get too close to the enemies or they will recognize you. Yes, the AI is stupid but not so stupid that you can stand right next to them and still be undetected.
  • Walking quickly or running will alert the enemies too as it raises the detection bar.
  • Do not draw out your weapon as it alerts the guards too. You don’t expect normal people to unsheathe a sword in the middle of the day for nothing.
  • Try to sit on benches, stand or walk with a group of people to blend in smoothly, just to avoid unnecessary attention.

So it is basically up to you how you want to use the cloak. You need to understand the situation of the game and use it to your advantage. Enjoy the game.
