Best Counter for Lifeweaver in Overwatch 2

Best Counter for Lifeweaver in Overwatch 2- Lifeweaver is the 37th Hero that makes the list. The first support hero that we have got since the launch of Overwatch 2 and 9th overall. Even though most of us would just prefer to play Damage and Tank, Support roles certainly have enough contributions to victory.

Lifeweaver has a pretty unique toolset. Comparing him with the meta healers we have today would not be the right thing to do as we are still learning more about his abilities.  However, being new would definitely play to the healer’s advantage for a while.

This guide will help you understand how you could directly counter Lifeweaver and his abilities to ensure your team always stays on top.

Best Counter for Lifeweaver in Overwatch 2

Every Hero in Overwatch 2 has a set of strengths and weaknesses. Knowing them is crucial and executing them would require skill and experience. Normally healers do not engage the enemy directly. They don’t have enough damage output and Lifeweaver is no different.

Keeping this in mind, we have prepared a list of heroes that could actually help you take him down or counter his abilities easily.

Tanks to counter Lifeweaver:

Lifeweaver, often referred to as the “Flower Boy” has a unique set of abilities. However, there are some tanks in the game that are direct counters to them.

Doomfist: The best Tank against Lifeweaver would be Doomfist. One of the best abilities of the healer is the Petal Platform. Doomfist is a direct counter to that. He can easily knock off an enemy from the platform with ease.

Roadhog: The Chain Hook ability of Roadhog is similar to Lifeweaver’s Life Grip. So basically, they both are counters to each other. Roadhog could easily chain hook an opponent Hero only for Lifeweaver to pull him back.

So the best way to counter Lifeweaver is to wait until he Life Grips a hero. The moment he does that you can chain hook the same hero, which then gives you an advantage.

D.Va: Her ability to lunge forward and attack weaker targets could prove to be a huge problem for Lifeweaver.

DPS to Counter Lifeweaver:

Remember, Lifeweaver does not have a hitscan weapon. Therefore keeping your distance from him is your best way to hold the upper hand in a fight.

Widowmaker & Hanzo: A pretty obvious counter to any healer. Lifeweaver is like a dream come true for snipers. He has a pretty big hitbox making it easy for snipers to take him down from distance. On top of that Lifeweaver’s projectiles are not so efficient at long range.

Ashe & Soldier 76: HitScan weapons are definitely a nightmare for Lifeweaver. Ashe and Soldier both have great range along with hitscan weapons.

Pharah & Genji: Heroes that have great mobility could also be used as counters to Lifeweaver. These two are direct counters to the Petal Platform ability as both of them can reach high grounds easily.

Sombra: Her ability to hack the backline could be one of the best ways to deal with all of Lifeweaver’s abilities. EMP will nullify Lifeweaver’s Ultimate making it completely useless.

Support Heroes to Counter Lifeweaver:

Here are some support heroes that could prove to be good at countering Lifeweaver.

Ana: Her long-range weapon would prove to be pretty helpful against Lifeweaver. Her Biotic Grenade will prevent Lifeweaver from healing.

Baptiste: His long-range hitscan weapon is a counter to any healer. Lifeweaver is no exception.

At the end of the day, we know that Overwatch is a team game. There could be multiple ways in which you can take down the opponent team or counter their abilities. A plan is what you need and for that, you need to bond well with the team.

Lifeweaver is a new Hero and we are yet to learn all about his strengths and weaknesses. This is as far as we know about countering the new hero. However, there will be more effective counters in the future and we will have this guide updated accordingly.
