Cyberpunk 2077 – Best Graphics Settings for FPS Boost | Performance Guide

Cyberpunk is one of those games which looks even more amazing when you turn everything to Low. The game is very heavy in terms of graphical depth. A lot of minute details even on random civilians you see on the road. The lighting looks spectacular even without RTX On.

With Ray Tracing you do lose a lot of frames but at the same time, the visuals are totally worth it. So if you are looking for a graphical setting that retains the visual depth and at the same time gives you playable frames then you have come to the right place.

Now if you have a high end graphics card you will obviously be able to run the game smoothly on high settings. But that is not what we are here for. What about people who have mediocre cards like an RTX 2060? For them running on Maximum Ray Tracing could be disastrous. So here is what we could do with average gaming rigs :

Cyberpunk 2077 – Best Graphics Settings for FPS Boost | Performance Guide

I personally love playing around with the video settings of any game for the first hour to basically know the sweet spot. I mean to know which settings to adjust to get a combination of good visuals and performance. This is what I have found to work best with Cyberpunk 2077  :

Graphics Settings :

Go to Settings and the to select Graphics :

Basic :

  • Texture Quality: Medium
  • Field of View: 70
  • Film Grain: Off
  • Chromatic Aberration: Off
  • Depth of Field: On
  • Lens Flare: On
  • Motion Blur: Off

Advanced :

  • Contact Shadows: Off
  • Improved Facial Lighting Geometry: Off
  • Anisotropy: 4
  • Local Shadow Mesh Quality: Medium
  • Local Shadow Quality: Low
  • Cascaded Shadows Range: Low
  • Cascaded Shadows Resolution: Low
  • Distant Shadows Resolution: Low
  • Volumetric Fog Resolution: Medium
  • Volumetric Cloud Quality: Low
  • Max Dynamic Decals: Low
  • Screen Space Reflections Quality: Medium
  • Subsurface Scattering Quality: Medium
  • Ambient Occlusion : Medium
  • Color Precision: High
  • Mirror Quality: Medium
  • Level Of Detail: Medium

Ray Tracing :

  • Ray Tracing: Off
  • Ray Traced Reflections: Off
  • Ray Traced Shadows: Off
  • Ray Traced Lighting: Low (Does not matter since Ray Tracing is Off)

Resolution Scaling :

DLSS is implemented really well in this game. You can try playing a little bit more with the DLSS setting to see if you get playable frames on Quality. If you do then keep it that way . The Image would look sharper and better. If you have Ray Tracing On you will need to have DLSS On as well to get better performance with Ray Tracing.

  • DLSS: Performance / Quality
  • Dynamic FidelityFX CAS: Off
  • Static FidelityFX CAS: Off

Video Settings :

Go to Settings and then on the top select Video :

  • Monitor: Depends on the setup you have
  • V-Sync: Off
  • Maximum FPS: Off
  • Value: Does not matter since Maximum FPS is Off
  • Windowed Mode: Fullscreen
  • Resolution: Native (Monitor Resolution)
  • HDR Mode – None

Hopefully, this setting would give you a good performance and at the same time, the game will retain its visual depth to some extent. Like I said before Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that looks superb even on low settings. There is a huge difference between Low and Ultra but if you just look at it as an image altogether, it still looks pretty great . Enjoy the game.
