The dawn of a new era is upon us as EA Sports FC24 is finally out on all platforms. However, things have not quite changed and the game remains almost similar to last year.
When it comes to Ultimate Team there are a lot of new features but most of the format remains the same. It is not an easy mode as dedicated users grind all day to build up the best possible team. Squaring off against these people online could really be a challenge.
The Weekend League or FUT Champions as we formally used to call it, is one of the most competitive modes within Ultimate Team. We are almost closing in on the first Weekend League of the year and if you are someone who has struggled in the WL before, this guide will help you stack up more wins than before.
EA FC 24- How to Get more WINS in FUT Champions/ Weekend League
As I said before, the Weekend League is not an easy mode. You would often encounter pro players with top-tier teams who would run rings around your defense. Dealing with them requires a lot of skill which comes from a lot of practice.
However, the connection quality also matters when it comes to gameplay experience. So how do we deal with these players? What are the ways in which we could collect more wins for better rewards?
Here are a few tips that might help you improve your game for the Weekend League/ UT Champions:
Know When To Play Your Games:
The Weekend League has a limited number of games that you can play. Like last year, we get to play 20 games in total. The more wins you collect the more points you get and depending on your points you get Ranks. The higher your rank, the better the rewards.
However, as we all know, UT Champions or Weekend League happens during the weekend. Playing all your matches on a Friday is a big no. That is when every player is starting off with their UT Champs. EA matches you against players with similar wins. While you are on 8 wins and 4 losses in 12 games, you could easily match against someone who is going 12-0. This makes the game unfair as your opponent will clearly be better than you.
I am not saying that there is no way to snatch a win from that match but it is highly unlikely that you would (considering you are an average player). So try to play the majority of your matches on a Sunday. That is when most of the good players have already finished their games leaving the server to casual players who stay busy on Fridays.
Also, playing the game feels horribly slow in the evening or during peak times. The servers remain packed with users making the overall gameplay experience terrible. Try to play games early in the morning or at night.
Here is a guide that helps you make your gameplay faster and reduce input delay.
Proper Custom Tactics and Formations:
Custom Tactics and Formations give you an edge over the opponent. You can easily counter your opponent’s tactics with your own and that is something a lot of people sleep on. Make sure you have both defensive and offensive tactics set for your squad to close out to come back in a game.

Slow Things Down or Take a Break:
While you may feel that powering through your losses could be the best way to overcome your losing streak, it is not the right thing to do. Whenever you go a goal down, you start focusing on scoring back quickly. And trust me when I say this, the game is not programmed to help players who try to rush in the game.
Slowing things down makes a lot of difference. When you start playing slow the composure rating of your players stays at max level, which makes them more efficient. Not everyone will tell you this but that is something you know with experience.
Also, when you lose a game or two games in a row, take this as an indication that you should take a break. Not because you have become tired and you are making wrong decisions on the pitch, but simply because your players don’t have the right mindset. They will feel slow and will perform worse than they did before, and you will end up stacking more to your losing streak.
Take a break and play after 2 or 3 hours. You will be shocked to see how well your team performs on the pitch. Try switching your formation and tactics and see how it works wonders. It is something the game does not tell you. Something that I have figured out over the years.
Make Changes to Your Game:
You will notice that whenever you are using a new formation or a new tactic, it will work wonders for your team. Use it for a few days and it does not work the same way as it did before. That is the game’s way of telling you to make changes to your game.
Don’t be scared to change your formation and tactics in the game. You will see streamers and pro players change their formation tactics every week. That is how they stay at the top of their game all the time. No doubt they are skilled but they also know when to make changes to their squads.
Buy new players from the transfer market or unlock from SBCs. New players play really well in the debut games. Most of the strikers I buy from the market will score a hat trick on their debut match. In fact, for the first 5 or 6 games, you will feel there could not be a better player than the one you have just bought. But after a few matches, you would see that the player is downright average.
These are basically ways in which you can make your team perform better for you. There are a lot of factors, like what players you use, and most importantly how good you are. There is no denial on the fact that you need to be skilled to collect more wins during the Weekend League. Practice makes a man perfect. No matter how much you change your formation or tactics, if you do not understand how the game works, there is little to no possibility for you to do better.
For this, you need a lot of practice. Watch tutorial videos and start learning from your mistakes. That is the only way you can get better at this game.
