FIFA 21 PS4 – Game Crashing FIXED/ CE-34878-0 Error Code

So a game on the PS4 copuld crash because of a corrupted save file or maybe because of the database issues. Database issue might include piling up of cache which could ideally lead to games crashing .

So how to we fix it?

Just follow these simple steps in order to get it working again :

Delete Saved Data for FIFA 21 on your database :

A corrupted saved data could be a very convincing reason for a crash . Deleting it would not harm your Ultimate Team or Pro Clubs Progress since they are stored in a server. However you will have to say bye to your in game personal settings file and anything which is stored locally on the PS4 and not on the EA server.

  • Go to Settings on you Console Menu
  • Then select Storage
  • It will show you a detailed storage list. Select Saved Data
  • Then select FIFA 21 from the list and press the button for Options Menu
  • Then select Delete which appears on the right side.
  • Then select the saved data or if there are multiple then select all then hit Delete again .
  • The saved data will be deleted.

Delete PlayStation 4 Caches and Rebuild the Database :

Re creating the database sure is a good option to go for when our games get crashed repeatedly . So how do we go ahead with it.

  • Turn Off your console completely
  • At the back of your console you will have a power chord which looks like this :

  • You need to take it out and leave it unplugged for 1 minute .This deletes the Cache .
  • Then plug it back it and press and hold the power button for about 10 secs. You will hear a beep when you hold it and then another beep after 8 or 10 seconds. Release the hold once you hear the second beep . This will boot the console in Safe Mode.
  • Then plug in your Controller directly with the USB cable and then press the PS button on it. It will prompt you to do the same on the screen.
  • Then you will find a list appearing on the screen and select Rebuild Database and hit OK.
  • If you are doing this for the first time then it might take a while . If you have done it before it might get over quickly.

Reinstalling the Game :

You can also try reinstalling a game rather re downloading the game. It can definitely help you with any errors or crashes that you are facing. This is how you do it:

  • Select FIFA 21 and press the button for Options Menu.
  • A list will appear on your screen . Select Delete and then press OK.
  • Then go to Libarary
  • Select Purchased
  • Select FIFA 21 from the list and click on Download on the left side of you screen.

Disabling Face Recognition :

Face recognition feature on the PS4 is known to have caused issues with games crashing with an error code of  CE-34878-0. So how do we disable it :

  • Go to Settings on you Console Menu
  • Select Login Settings
  • Uncheck the box next to Enable Face Recognition
  • Restart your console.

Initializing Your PS4 :

Initializing your PS4 could be the last option that you might want to try since it will completely reinstall the OS for your Console . But remember to backup your saved data before you do it . This is how you backup saved data :

  • Go to Settings on you Console Menu
  • Scroll down and select for Application Saved Data Management
  • Then select Saved Data in System Storage from the list.
  • Then select Upload to Online Storage
  • You will see a list of games. Then press the Options button on your controller and hit Select Multiple Applications.
  • Then you will get an option to Select All on the right. Hit the option and select Upload option which appears at the bottom right of your screen
  • If you get a prompt for override the check the box for Apply to All and select Yes .
  • This will store only the saved data for the game on your Cloud storage.

After you back up your saved data to an online storage you can initialize you PS4. This is how you do it :

  • Go to Settings on you Console Menu
  • Go to the bottom and select Initialization
  • There will be two options Quick and Full
  • Full will take a few hours and we recommend you to select Full over quick

You can then bring back your FIFA 21 saved data from the cloud to your hard drive again.  After you have downloaded the game. Just follow these steps :

  • Go to Settings on you Console Menu
  • Scroll down and select for Application Saved Data Management
  • Then select Saved Data in Online Storage from the list.
  • Then select Download to System Storage
  • Select FIFA 21 from the list
  • Select the saved data with the game and hit Download at the bottom right of your screen.

      1. I have the same issue too, and resorted to the drastic “Initialize PS4”. After the system reinstall, the fifa 21 reinstall, I played 1 game of squad battles, seemed to work just fine, then played a second game – started freezing. Very frustrating.
Thought my PS4 was broken (like need to replace harddrive), but if other people have the same problem, maybe it’s just Fifa.
