FIFA 23 Best Graphics Settings to increase FPS

Struggling with Performance in FIFA 23? Need more FPS and reduce Lag and Stuttering in the game?

This guide will help you get the best possible graphics settings for FIFA 23 to get playable frames as well as good visuals to that you get the best overall gaming experience.

FIFA 23 Best Graphics Settings to increase FPS

FIFA 23 is finally out on all major platforms. Users who own the Ultimate Edition or the EA Play or Play Pro Editions will be able to get access to the game as of now. The game looks and feels brilliant so far.

I love the fact that PC users are getting the next-gen version of the game. The current-gen version is rather pale in comparison. However, the gameplay changes this year are currently making a huge difference as we play the game. The Hypermotion 2 tech gives you so many animations that it kind of feels like a real game.

FIFA is a very competitive game when it comes to online modes like Ultimate Team. having proper visual settings is key to smoother gameplay as you might have noticed how badly slow gameplay could affect your players in-game.

For Casual gamers, it is fine when they switch everything to high and enjoy the game. However dedicated FIFA players like me, do not have that mindset. I need to make sure I have the best possible gameplay to dominate my opponent in the game. For this, I need more FPS and less input delay.

System Requirements for FIFA 23 :

Before we talk about the graphics settings take a look at the System Requirements for FIFA 23 :

MINIMUM:

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
    • Processor: Intel Core i5 6600k or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 570
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 100 GB available space

RECOMMENDED:

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
    • Processor: Intel Core i7 6700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
    • Memory: 12 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 100 GB available space

These are the requirements according to Steam so you know I am not making this up. The game does require a powerful system especially since PC users are getting the next-gen version of the game.

If you have a system set up not as strong as the minimum requirements then chances are you be able to launch the game at all. Even if you do it will lag and stutter a lot making it unplayable. We are looking at a config that comes in between the minimum and recommended specifications.

The reason is simple if you have a setup better than the recommended config then you would be able to run the game on the highest visual setting and still get playable frames. So we are going to talk about the average PC here.

How to Change Graphics Settings for FIFA 23 :

The first thing you would have noticed is that PC users no longer get the little settings window before launching the game. Mainly because of the fact that this is the next-gen version of the game and the fact that the EA Anti Cheat Engine launches as soon as you launch the game.

Instead, now you could change the graphics settings from within the game itself :

Launch FIFA 23 > Customize > Game Settings

Once you go to game settings you will see tabs with various options. On the extreme right, the last tab would say Display Configuration. Select that.

  • Resolution: Default or Native (Whatever is the default resolution of your monitor. Mine is 1980 x 1080)
  • Display Mode: Full Screen
  • Frame Rate: No Limit to FPS ( Do not lock FPS to 60 or 30 as it will only cause input delay)
  • Dynamic Resolution Scale: Off
  • Strand-Based Hair: Off
  • Rendering Quality: Medium (If you are a hardcore FIFA player then change to Low, if you are casual and want to enjoy the game then change it to high or medium depending on your config. I would suggest medium for average PCs )

In order to get access to more graphics options you need to go here :

  • Go to My Documents
  • Select FIFA 23
  • Open the fifasetup.ini file with notepad
  • Make sure MSAA Level is 0. (If you want to increase it change it to 1, 2, or 3 but I will suggest keeping it 0 for better performance).
  • Also, make sure Full Screen is set to 1.
  • And make sure Wait for VSync is set to 0
  • Windowed Borderless should be 0
  • Keep the other settings as it is.

After you make the changes :

  • Go to the File option
  • Then select Save

This will save your settings. Re-launch the game after you are done.

This is how you can change the graphics settings. It is obviously a personal choice here. You can play around with the settings and use the one that works best for you.
