FIX FIFA 23 EA AntiCheat Error Failure During Update Process

Are you unable to launch FIFA 23 because of the EA Anti Cheat Error? No worries, as I would be explaining in this guide how you can easily fix this problem and play the game like everyone else.

FIX FIFA 23 EA AntiCheat Error Failure During Update Process

FIFA 23 is out on all platforms and so far I am loving the new game. The look and the feel of this game are incredible. They have completely reworked the dribbling system and next-gen users would know about the new Hypermotion 2 technology which brings so many new animations to the game.

This is the first time that PC users would be getting the next-gen version of the game. This is a huge step from EA as for the last two years PC was stuck with the old-gen version of the game. Although a lot of people feel that the old-gen version of FIFA 23 is better but I feel differently.

Since the version is changed for PC users they longer get the little Settings window after launching the game from Steam, Epic Games, or Origin. Instead, they would get an EA AntiCheat application which would be running in the background as long as they play FIFA. This is done to prevent PC hackers from interfering with crossplay.

How to Solve EA AntiCheat Error problem for FIFA 23  :

There would be two error messages that might pop up when you launch the game.

  • Failure During Update Process
  • EA AntiCheat Service has Encountered an error. Please Restart the Game…

Both mean the same thing. There is no specific reason for these separate error messages. You might even get both.

In order to fix the error you need to :

  • Relaunch the Game
  • Re-launch Steam, Epic Games or Origin
  • Restart your PC
  • Run Steam, Origin, or Epic Games as an Administrator.
  • Run The FIFA 23.exe from the installed folder directly as an Administrator.

These are the basic steps that you need to start with. If these do not fix the problem then follow the steps given below.

Turn Off Antivirus or Windows Security :

Windows Security or any Antivirus that you might be running could be blocking this application. You could create an exception for this app or you could just temporarily disable real-time protection from the antivirus. Most of the time the exe files would be recognized as Malware Threats, which is why the Antivirus blocks the app.

To allow an app through Windows Security :
  • Type Settings on the Desktop search bar
  • Select Update and Security
  • Go to Windows Security
  • Then click on Virus and Threat Protection
  • Scroll down to the bottom and click on Manage Ransomware Protection
  • Under Controlled Folder Access turn the switch to On.
  • Now click on Allow app through controlled folder access
  • Click on Add an Allowed App
  • Then click on Browse all apps
  • Add EAAntiCheat.GameServiceLauncher.exe
  • Add FIFA23.exe
  • Re-Launch FIFA 23

Re-Install Steam, Origin, or Epic Games :

You can try and Re-Install the App from where you are running the game. This may help fix the problem.

Repair In-Game Files :

You can Repair the in-game files to check if there are any missing or corrupted files.

Origin :
  • Go to My Game Library in Origin.
  • Right Click on FIFA 23 and Select Repair.
  • This will take some time.
  • Re-Launch the game after it is done.
Steam :
  • Go to Library
  • Select FIFA 23 and right click
  • Select Properties
  • Go to Local Files on the left
  • Click on Verify Integrity of game files
Epic Games :
  • Go to Library
  • Select FIFA 23
  • Click on the three-dot icon
  • Select Verify

Re-install EA Anti Cheat Separately :

You need to re-install the EA AntiCheat App separately. This has fixed the problem for many users.

  • Go to C:\Program Files\EA\AC
  • Click on EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe
  • Right-click and select run as an administrator
  • From the drop-down icon select Installed FIFA 23
  • Now click on Uninstall
  • Then Click on Install
  • Now Re-Launch Origin, Steam, or Epic Games.
  • Launch FIFA 23

Re-Install the Game :

Re-installing the game would be the last resort. If nothing works you need to re-install the game. Sometimes a fresh installation could fix such errors.

These steps should definitely fix the AntiCheat problem error and you would be able to play the game like everyone else. If it still does not get fixed you might have to wait for a patch since a lot of users are facing this problem.
