Gear Slot Full Bug or Glitch while Opening Chest in Hogwarts Legacy

Harry Potter games had never been fulfilling. However, Hogwarts Legacy does an excellent job packing so many positive reviews. Honestly, it could even be a contender for game of the year.
There is so much to do in this game and I do not think anyone could possibly get bored with it. Even though the game has breathtaking visuals, gameplay on PC is a bit unoptimized. It plays well on the consoles though. Other than this, I do not find any major flaws in the game.
What is the “Gear Slot is Full” bug in Hogwarts Legacy?
Every game comes with its share of bugs and glitches. Hogwarts Legacy is different. The gear slot bug is actually one of the most annoying bugs in the game at the moment. And it can cost you some really good gear.
Normally when you play the game and you have gathered 20 items your gear slot becomes full. This is when you absolutely avoid opening any chests. If you open a chest when your gear slot is full, chances are you would either lose that item or you might get the same item but at a very lower level.
The moment you open the chest it says “Gear Slots Full” and you have no clue where the item went. Happened to me when I was opening a chest that is supposed to have a legendary item.
I lost the legendary item and I cannot get it again because the chest is opened and there is nothing in there. If you “destroy” a gear right at the spot and then try to take the contents of the chest, it will still not work and you would still end up losing the item.
However, if you are a little lucky and you find that the chest can be opened again, you would get the same item but the level would be the same as your level last time you opened it. So make sure you do not level up for a few hours after this glitch happens. If you are lucky then you might get the item back.
How to Increase Gear Slots in Hogwarts Legacy?
The only way to get around this bug would be to have as many gear slots available as possible. For this to happen you would have to sell your gear quickly. Sell all the gear that you are not using to keep gear slots available.
The second way would be to keep doing the Merlin Trial quests in the game. As you keep completing the puzzles your gear slots keep increasing. The gear slots keep gradually increasing as you keep doing puzzles.
I know the bug is super annoying and it needs to get fixed. Hopefully, a patch might do the trick.
