Want to learn how to do a Speed Boost or a Sprint Boost to accelerate past defenders? Well, you have come to the right place. This guide will help you understand how and when to do a speed boost to gain maximum speed quickly in FIFA 23.
How to do Speed Boost in FIFA 23
FIFA 23 is the last title under FIFA and I am pretty sure EA will be making this the best one yet. With online matches in FUT going cross-platform, to PC and getting the next-gen version of the game, EA is heading towards a really good start this year.
When you play the game you will realize the whole dribbling system is changed. The game is more focused on little touches that get you away from a tackle. However, there will still be certain moves in the game that will outdo the others. One of them being the Sprint Boost.
What is a Speed Boost?
As the name suggests this is a certain move in the game that gives you a sudden increase in speed making it difficult for defenders to react and catch up to you. It is pretty easy to get it done and once you get used to it you will find yourself getting past defenders pretty easily.
I would use the Sprint Boost a lot last year as early on the defenders were not so fast. Later on, we had defenders with 96 pace which made it very difficult to actually get a speed boost past them. The speed boost is equally effective this year and you could use it to your advantage early on in the game.
How to perform a Speed Boost in FIFA 23?
In order to do a speed boost in FIFA 23 you need a player with high acceleration, like Messi or Neymar or Mbappe or anyone with good enough acceleration.
PlayStation: Press L1 on the controller and slowly walk then release the button and press R2 to sprint in the same direction.
Xbox: Press LB on the controller and slowly walk then release the button and press RT to sprint in the same direction.
PC (Keyboard): Press the Player Run/Modifier button on the keyboard and slowly walk then release the button and press the Sprint button to sprint in the same direction.
Remember that you need to sprint in the same direction as you are walking while holding the L1 or LB or Player Run/Modifier button. Also, remember that there should not be a delay between leaving the LB or L1 button and pressing the Sprint button. You should be pressing Sprint immediately after you leave the L1 or LB button.
When to do Speed Boost?
If you try to do this in the center of the pitch you will only be going to run into a defender. Keep these in mind :
- You need to have some space behind the defender.
- You need to be on the right or left of a defender to go past him. If he is directly in front then you will end you crashing into him.
- Make sure you are controlling a player with high acceleration.
- Do not use it in the penalty box as the keeper will just dive in front of you and grab the ball.
There you go, that is it on how you could do a speed boost in FIFA 23 and when you can effectively use it in the game.
