Mortal Kombat 11 – Aftermath – Good Ending – Plot for Mortal Kombat 12 ?

The NetherRealm  Studios did an amazing job on the Aftermath DLC for Mortal Kombat 11. Not only were the new characters used well in the story mode but also provided us with a twist in the end. Okay, so now we have alternate endings to the game, a good and a bad one.

A good one is where Fire God Liu Kang wins and defeats Shang Tsung and the opposite is the bad one. At least something for the Shang Tsung fanboys finally. The Evil ending is where we see Shang Tsung trying to conquer every realm and sitting on the throne as the supreme being.  However, it seems very non-canon as it appears impossible to defeat Shang Tsung at this point or rather try to build up another story right from there. But the good ending is what we are here for.

Mortal Kombat 11 – Aftermath – Good Ending – Plot for Mortal Kombat 12?

When Liu Kang rebuilds the timeline the scene takes us to the Wu Shi Academy where we find the monks training. The scene then takes us to a small hut where we see a monk cleaning a little green idol. Liu Kang visits him and calls him Kung Lao and introduces himself as the “God of Thunder and Fire“.

The monk bows in respect as Liu Kang approaches him and tells him that he is humble and not like the Kung Lao he knew. This was rather shocking to the monk. However, Liu Kang informs him that he has chosen him as his champion and he should be prepared and trained. When Kung Lao asked, “For what?” Liu Kang would just give him a smile and the cinematic would end there.

Now the Kung Lao over here is not the one we all know, he is actually the Great Kung Lao ( who had once saved Earthrealm by winning Mortal Kombat ) since he was humble, unlike the one  Liu Kang knew. The Fire God had rebuilt the timeline in a way that brings us to where it all began. The fact that Liu Kang would still have Mortal Kombat Tournaments in the new timeline is a little shocking but we still do not know what Kung Lao must be trained for .

We can just guess that there would again be Mortal Kombat tournaments maybe with new rules or maybe just like the previous ones. However, we do not know yet if he would still keep the evil Shao Kahn or Shang Tsung in the new timeline. This ending seems canon and the fans would love to see the Great Kung Lao as the next protagonist. A lot of ways in which the story could actually build up in the next game. Moreover, it will also give a fresh start to the series which we all want since the Mortal Kombat storyline is arguably the most complicated storyline in gaming history.
