NBA 2K23 Best Build for Dunking and Layups | Inside Finisher

Need the best build to dominate the rim? Need a Posterizer who Dunks over your opponents every single time? Well, you have come to the right place as we are going to discuss the best My Career build for an Interior Finisher in NBA 2K23.

NBA 2K23 Best Build for Dunking and Layups | Inside Finisher

NBA 2K23 is finally out on all major platforms. The game shows a lot of improvements over last year’s title. The game looks and feels good. Although I wished the PC users would get the next-gen version of the game but is not that the current gen looks bad in any way. Overall I must say 2K has done a good job.

Dunking is perhaps the most beautiful sight in basketball. Not everyone in the game is capable of pulling off amazing dunks over defenders. My Career Mode in NBA 2K23 lets you build a character of any type. Maybe a 3-point shooter, maybe a defensive bully, or a proficient inside scorer who likes to take things to the hoop more often.

Build for getting more contact dunks and layups :

It seems like NBA 2K23 is not the game for shooters. I mean you have to time everything on the green to actually get a basket. A little off with the timing and you will be penalized. If you are in My Career mode you would know how tough it is to shoot with 50- 60 mid-range and 3-point shots.

You get fewer minutes to begin with, and not scoring on your possession really brings down your confidence. Get 2 to 3 missed shots and you would get cold for a long time. It would be like they might have a lid over the basket.

However, what I have noticed is that taking the ball to the hoop gave me more chances to finish. Even when I used a Point Guard who is not the tallest and the strongest out there but still I managed to finish with more layups and dunks than mid-rangers and 3-pointers.

Maybe they tried to shift from the shooting meta you had last year. Anyways, this is why we are here, to know the best build you could have to become one of the best inside scorers.

Body Settings :

Firstly you would have to make sure you are either a Center, Power Forward, or Small Forward. You need a good height and wingspan. Your weight would decide your strength which is a key attribute and so crank it up to as much weight as possible.

These are the Body Settings I would prefer for an Inside Finisher.

Potential Settings :

This is the most important settings of all. Over here you need to decide how you want to build your character. What is the maximum attribute you want to give to your character for each field.

Go ahead and use these Potential attributes for your Inside Scorer Build. Remember that the most important aspect of his game should be Dunking, Layups, Strength, Vertical, and Stamina. The other attributes help these attributes out and they are kind of interlinked.

For example, if you do not have good ball control it will be difficult to get inside with the ball as the defender would easily steal it from you. Feel free to copy the attributes I have set up for this build. You could also play around a little bit and see what works best for you.

Takeovers :

Since you are building a character who likes to go to the hoop make sure you have Slasher as your Primary Takeover. The secondary ones could be Shot, Creator, and Playmaker. I have chosen Playmaker since it is the best way to boost your match rating.

Teams :

The team you choose depends on your Position.  If you are a Point Guard and you choose a team with already good PGs, chances are you would not be getting enough minutes. Over here I have built a Small Forward. Here are the teams you could select if you are building a Small Forward.

  1. Dallas Texas.
  2. Cleveland Cavaliers.
  3. Minnesota Timberwolves
  4. Atlanta Hawks.
  5. Philadelphia 76ers

There you go, the best build for an inside soccer. If you expect on dunking over defenders from game 1 you would be very wrong. You would only be a 60 overall and your stats would be super low. You need to build on the character.

Try to get Free Throws up early on because you would be going to the line a lot.
