Raji : An Ancient Epic – Game Not Starting / Crashing How to Fix

Raji : An Ancient Epic is an action adventure game set in ancient India. You play as Raji , a girl  in order to save her brother has to fight the demonic forces under the demon lord Mahabalasura  who has invaded the human realm. The story is unique and the gameplay is very engaging. Levels have the rich and cultural Indian style designs and they look beautiful indeed.

Even though the game is not that heavy in terms of graphics there is still one little problem with the release. The game crashes a lot. Most of the time it would just refuse to start or it would just crash midway. So what can we do to get this problem fixed ?

Raji : An Ancient Epic – Game Not Starting / Crashing How to Fix

I believe these few steps would definitely help fix the issue.  People did face the same issue with the demo and it did get fixed for a lot a of them .So lets see what we have to do :

Delete Save Game File :

This is perhaps the most important step . Normally a corrupt save file might cause the game to crash at launch . The first thing that we need to try is deleting the save file from your system. This is how you can do it :

  • You need to go to C drive and click on Users .
  • Then double click on the directory with your user name (could be any name)
  • Then select App Data. Now App Data could be Hidden so on the top of your screen click on View and check the option for Hidden Items.
  • Inside App Data you need to select Local and the look for a folder called Raji
  • Right click on that folder and Delete it .
  • Re Launch the game .

Check the System Requirements :

Now , a common cause for a game not starting up could be a hardware issue. Normally if you try to force run a game with system requirements that does not meet your system configuration, it would probably end up crashing a lot and at times it wont even launch . So lets see what is the requirement for Raji :

    • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-4400 (3.1 GHz) / AMD FX-6300 (3.5 GHz)
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: GeForce GTX 760 / AMD Radeon R9 270
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 6 GB available space

    • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-7400 (3.50 GHz) / AMD FX-8100 (2.8 GHz)
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: GeForce GTX 1060 / AMD RX 480
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 6 GB available space

You need to have atleast the minimum requirements for the game to run . Although the recommended setup is what you should be having if you want a smooth and interrupted gameplay.

Always have your Video Drivers Updated :

Outdated Video Drivers are always a big no when it comes to performance of a game. Especially if the game is a new release. So make sure you always have your video drivers updated. Updates are meant to fix any issues with the current driver , thus giving you a much better performance ingame and probably fixing any crash related problems. You can update your video drivers below :

Verifying Game Files for Raji :

Steam allows to to verify and check for any missing game files which might be affecting the performance of a game . Any missing or corrupted file would be re downloaded . This is how you can do it :

The steam overlay has often been a cause for poor performance for a game. It could also cause random crashes . hence  turning it off could be helpful :

NVIDIA Overlay should be Disabled :

The NVIDIA GeForce Experience is a pretty cool app by NVIDIA if you want to take snapshots and record in game footage. But the app also comes with a lot of other NVIDIA processes which tend to increase the CPU usage a lot . This could often lead to a crash . So it is recommended that you have it turned Off if you do not intend to take snapshots or record your gameplay.

  • Start Nvidia Geforce Experience
  • Click on the Settings icon on the top right
  • Select the General Tab
  • Turn Off In-Game Overlay
  • Restart your PC

Update Windows Too :

Windows updates are as important as your driver updates. It is often noticed that outdated windows versions tend to interfere with the performance of a game and may result in the game crashing. So this is how we update our windows version :

  • Go to Update & Security
  • Click on Check for updates
  • Wait for the updates to get installed
  • Restart your PC

Re-Install Raji :

A simple Reinstall could always fix any issues with corrupted game files preventing a launch or a random crash in game. So this is how you reinstall the game :

  • Launch Steam client
  • On top select Library and click Home
  • From the left panel select Raji : An Ancient Epic
  • Right Click on the game and select Manage
  • Click on Uninstall
  • It will take some time and after it is done you will notice that the Play button has now changed into an Install button.
  • Click on Install to download and reinstall the game
  • Re launch the game after downloading it again

Hopefully, these steps would be enough to help you fix any crash related problems with Raji : An Ancient Epic . If the issue still persists then probably our best bet is to wait for a patch fix by the developers .
