Which Team To Choose in F1 Manager 2022 ?

Confused about which Team to start your journey within F1 Manager 2022? Well, you have come to the right place. This guide will help you decide which team you should lead.

Which Team To Choose in F1 Manager 2022?

Developed by Frontier Developments, F1 Manager 2022 is the official racing management simulation game of the 2022 Formula One, Formula 2, and Formula 3 Championships.

It is the first installment in the franchise as a game where you are more of the person managing an entire team instead of being just the driver. I know how addictive these manager-based simulation games can be and this is not different at all.

There is so much to do in the game that there is very little room to actually get bored. You would not even realize that you have literally spent hours playing F1 Manager 2022 and it is so detailed and realistic.

The Best Team Guide for you in F1 Manager 2022 :

As we all know by now F1 is not just a “get a car and drive” kind of sport. There is a lot that happens behind the scenes in order to get the best results. F1 is a team sport and the driver is just a part of that team.

We tend to know more about the drivers because they are the ones racing and that is what we watch. But in reality, it would have been impossible to even drive without the massive support he gets from his team.

Different teams in F1 have different staff members. Some teams are richer and some have the best cars. Some of them have good drivers while some struggle big time.

In order to choose the best team that you can start with, we need to learn about each of the strengths and weaknesses of the teams.

Mercedes :

These guys are one of the richest and have the most number of employees amongst all the other teams. Top-tier staff members with strong HQ and an easy pick for beginners. You even get top Tier drives.

  • Season Objective: 3rd place
  • Long-Term Objective: Constructor’s World Champion
  • Starting Budget: High
  • Car Performance: 3rd place
  • Drivers: Lewis Hamilton (90) and George Russell (86)
  • Staff Performance: 3rd place
  • Headquarters: 2nd place

Red Bull :

The last time they won the Constructor’s World Championship was back when Sebastian Vettel was behind the wheel. Even though Verstappen may be the defending drivers champion the team needs to put in more work in order to secure the Constructor’s World Championship. On top of that, they have one of the best Headquarters and I do not see a reason why this should not be your pick if you are looking for an easy way to success.

  • Season Objective: Constructor’s World Champion
  • Long-term goal: Constructor’s World Champion
  • Starting Budget: High
  • Car Performance: 2nd place
  • Drivers: Max Verstappen (90) and Sergio Perez (87)
  • Staff Performance: 2nd place
  • Headquarters: 1st place

Ferrari :

They have a lot of money and the best cars to help you win championships. Headquarters are not as good as Red Bull’s but definitely top tier. Excellent choice for beginners who do not want much of a challenge when it comes to managing the team.

  • Season Objective: Constructor’s World Champion
  • Long-Term Objective: Constructor’s World Champion
  • Starting Budget: High
  • Car Performance: 1st place
  • Driver : Charles Leclerc (88) and Carlos Sainz (87)
  • Staff Performance: 1st place
  • Headquarters: 3rd place

McLaren :

Looking for a challenge? Well, here is the first team which is going to put you through a rough first season. The car is pretty bad, to be honest, and you need to make sure things work out well. The board will not always be happy with you but you can definitely turn things around.

  • Season Objective: 4th Place
  • Long-Term Objective: Constructor’s World Champion
  • Starting Budget: Medium
  • Car Performance: 8th place
  • Drivers : Lando Norris (86) and Daniel Ricciardo (84)
  • Staff Performance: 6th place
  • Headquarters: 4th place

Alpine :

Definitely is not the best team for sure but not the worse either. You can definitely bring a fight if you have what it takes to manage this team. Investing in your headquarters should be key since you are getting a high budget.

  • Season Objective: 4th Place
  • Long-Term Objective: Constructor’s World Champion
  • Starting Budget: High
  • Car Performance: 5th place
  • Drivers : Fernando Alonso (85) and Esteban Ocon (85)
  • Staff Performance: 4th place
  • Headquarters: 8th place

Alpha Tauri :

To succeed with this team you need to make smart enough strategies. The team lacks in more or less every department and you have to invest in them. So make sure how much you invest and where you do it.

  • Season Objective: 6th Place
  • Long-Term Objective: Podium Contender
  • Starting Budget: Medium
  • Car Performance: 6th place
  • Drivers: Pierre Gasly (84) and Yuki Tsunoda (77)
  • Staff Performance: 8th place
  • Headquarters: 6th place

Ashton Martin :

They were once giants of the sport and now have fallen. This team is a clear example of a lack of a proper strategist who could turn things around. This could be you. You have a high budget but the car is the second worst of the 10 teams you could choose from. Replace the chief designers and make sure you upgrade your car as quickly as possible.

  • Season Objective: 8th Place
  • Long-Term Objective:  Points contender
  • Starting Budget: High
  • Car Performance: 9th place
  • Drivers: Sebastian Vettel (82) and Lance Stroll (79)
  • Staff Performance: 8th place
  • Headquarters: 4th place

Williams :

If you could win the World Championship with this team then you could call yourself the true manager. This team has the worst car, the HQ is bad and more or less every area needs improvement. Now add a tight budget and you have yourself the ultimate challenge.

  • Season Objective: 9th Place
  • Long-Term Objective:  Points contender
  • Starting Budget: Low
  • Car Performance: 10th place or Last
  • Drivers :  Alexander Albon (81) and Nicholas Latifi (73)
  • Staff Performance: 9th place
  • Headquarters: 7th place

Alfa Romeo :

With the second worst Headquarters and a tight budget, Alfa Romeo gives you a challenge similar to William. However, you will be getting yourself a better car at least.

  • Season Objective: 5th Place
  • Long-Term Objective:  Podium Contender
  • Starting Budget: Low
  • Car Performance: 4th place
  • Drivers: Valtteri Bottas (87) and Zhou Guanyu (79)
  • Staff Performance: 7th place
  • Headquarters: 9th place

Haas :

The last team would be Haas. They have a situation similar to Williams but with a car that could possibly help you get a few points. However they have the worst staff and Headquarters and you have to be super patient to build a great team out of them.

  • Season Objective: 6th Place
  • Long-Term Objective:  Podium Contender
  • Starting Budget: Low
  • Car Performance: 7th place
  • Drivers: Kevin Magnussen (80) and Mick Schumacher (76)
  • Staff Performance: 10th place
  • Headquarters: 10th place

Which is the Best Team for you in F1 Manager 2022?

Well, the team that you would select would be based on how much you are willing to contribute to the game. If you are going to be playing for hours and you have the patience and the strategic skills to make things happen then I would say you go with Haas or Alfa Romeo.

Williams is a team I would stay away from as building them would take so much effort. The car they have is super slow and you just do not want to get depressed too soon. However, if you are up for the real challenge then go ahead and pick this one. Don’t come back saying I never wanted you though.

For casual players who just want to enjoy the game while the top-tier teams could be your best choice. Go for Mercedes or Ferrari or maybe Red Bull.

If you ask me I would personally go for Ashton Martin. The reason is simple. I have to make investments and upgrades and I would have the budget for that. This makes things a little bit easier for me.

Or else I would just go for Ferrari because you know they are the coolest and I just love the red color of the team.
