Need decent performance for WRC 10? Tired of the game constantly lagging? We have just the right fixes for you
WRC 10 – How to Fix Lag & Stuttering Low Performance
FIA World Rally Championship 10 is finally here and boy the game looks impressive. It is the 50th anniversary and the game brings us 19 historical events by replicating the racing conditions back then to perfection. The game runs fine on all consoles but users on PC did complain about optimization issues.
With that being said lets us quickly discuss what could actually be done to fix the performance issues with this game. Frequent FPS drops and stuttering really make lives miserable for gamers who actually love to play a fun racing game like this.
Check your PC Config :
Let’s start off with the basics. The first thing we have to understand is the requirement for the right PC configuration. Therefore we need to check the system requirements for the game and compare it with the configuration we have. Any setup equivalent or better than the recommended requirements would give you much better performance along with visuals. Configs below the recommended requirements would only give you performance but at the cost of visuals. Anything under the minimum would eventually lead to tremendous performance issues. Literally making the game unplayable.
MINIMUM:
-
- OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-2300 or AMD FX-6300
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti, 2 GB or AMD Radeon HD 7790, 2 GB
- DirectX: Version 12
RECOMMENDED:
-
- OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-4790k or AMD Ryzen 5 2600
- Memory: 6 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070, 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56, 8 GB
- DirectX: Version 12
GPU Updates for WRC 10 :
Drivers are always important. Always make sure you have updated Graphics drivers :
Background Processes :
Background processes could really bring down the performance of a game. Memory is not only the issue here. Background processes may crank up the CPU and the Disk Usage to a point when gaming becomes annoying.
Google Chrome is an example of an app that takes up a lot of memory
Also, Services like Service Host SysMain are not important to your PC but they take up a lot of Disk. Having that turned off is highly recommended
You can see how easily it takes up 96% of your Disk. This leads to in-game frame drops. This is how you turn it Off
- Type cmd in the search bar and then start Command Prompt as Admin
- Type these commands: sc stop “SysMain” & sc config “SysMain” start=disabled.
- Wait for the Success message and then restart your PC.
Also, XBOX Game Bar should be Turned off.
Say No to Overlays :
Overlays are cool but definitely interfere with your in-game performance. Have all the overlays like Discord, Nvidia GeForce Experience and Steam completely turned off
Switch to Dedicated Graphics (Laptop users) :
If you are on Laptop then there could be a possibility that WRC 10 would be running on your Integrated graphics. This could lead to various Performance issues. This is how you can switch to Integrated Graphics :
- Type Graphics Settings on the Taskbar
- Then Under Graphics Performance Preference choose the Browse option. Select WRC 10 and then click Options
- Now select High performance. This should launch the game using your dedicated GPU.
Verify Game Files For WRC 10 on Steam :
If these steps do not work for you then try to Verify game files for WRC on Steam. Any missing or Corrupted file would be replaced or re-downloaded and installed.
- Go to your Steam game Library
- Select WRC 10
- Right Click and Properties
- Then choose Local Files
- Click on Verify Integrity of Game Files
- This should take a while.
There you go, easy steps which could drastically improve performance for WRC 10. If the game still lags then probably it could be an optimization issue that might need a patch fix from the developers. Also, try Re-Installing the game if none of the steps I mentioned works.I hope the guide was useful. Do let us know in the Comment section down below.
