WWE 2K22 – How to Change Keyboard Controls | Best Button Input Settings

This guide will help you change the Keyboard button settings for WWE 2K22.

WWE 2K22 – How to Change Keyboard Controls | Best Button Input Settings

WWE 2K22 is finally out on all platforms. Users who have pre-ordered the Deluxe or the NWO Editions are currently enjoying the game 3 days prior to its main release on the 11th of March.

The game has improved on all its flaws. The visuals are amazing, the detailing, and the player models all are spot on. The presentation is top-tier, honestly the best one ever in any WWE game. The game feels smooth and the moves feel like they have that “Here Comes the Pain” impact on them.

WWE 2K games in general had never been keyboard friendly. These games are meant to be played with a controller and that is what most people do. However, there are o many users out there who play the game on a Keyboard.

I do play the game on the keyboard at times but I would always prefer a controller. Especially on the new fighting system, the keyboard becomes so confusing. However, this is why we are here. To change the default keyboard controls which honestly do not make any sense to me.

How to Change the Keyboard Button Mapping in WWE 2K22?

To be honest, it took me quite a while to actually find out how you can change the keyboard controls. The Menu this year isn’t the greatest. This is where you get the setting to change Input Settings :

Go to Options :

Under Options these are the things that you get. The problem is when you click on Controls, you get a guide on how to do combos and everything else in the game. This is where 2K went wrong. We should be able to change the settings here only. Sadly you cannot do that.

So we would have to select Extras

When you click on Extras you get these options. Select Input Settings. Inside you have the control settings where you can actually change the button setup. I personally use these setting

I personally use this Button Setup. Feel free to change to whatever you feel is good. For me, I love using the good old arrow keys to move the player around.

What to do if you get the error ” Bindings are incomplete. Please bind all actions ” ?

After you are done with the button setup you would have to save it.

As it shows in the menu you have to press “Space” to save the new edited controls. But when you do that you get an error that says “Bindings are incomplete. Please bind all actions” What do you do now? It seems like the game is not letting you change the controls.

Just simply take the cursor to where it says “Save“. To do that you need to press the down arrow until you reach Save. Now press Enter to save the configuration. This is also a glitch and this is how you can fix it.

Important ( Must Read): Let’s come to the main thing now. There is a problem with this Setup. I do not know if 2K will fix this control layout or not but this is just wrong. As we have discussed before WWE 2K22 uses a brand new fighting system that involves different controls like buttons separate for Light and Heavy Attacks.

This layout over here is just a mere copy from the last game. Which makes it so confusing to set this up properly. The Grapple button that you see is actually the Heavy Attack Button and the Irish Whip button is the Grapple Button.

It is so lazy of 2K to just use the same layout as the previous game when they themselves changed the entire fighting system and controls. They just did not bother to make the changes inside the Input Settings option. In fact, it is very clear that they did not care about users who would play the game on the keyboard.

Not only that, when you change the buttons, due to the layout being similar to last year (which makes no sense), when you play a match, the prompts and tutorial will continuously show you the default button config. So if you have a light attack on “D”, it will still show you “J” in-game since it is the default button. This will confuse you even more.

So basically you either use the default one or maybe just get a controller and enjoy the game on that. The experience is completely different on a controller. If you can manage with the wrong prompts on the screen all the time then go for your own control setup. Or else stick to the default controls. The best would be to get a controller.
