Yakuza 6 – Lag / FPS Drops / Stuttering FIX | Performance Guide

If you are facing performance issue with Yakuza 6 , then you have come to the right place. I will tell you a few simple ways in which you can get a pretty nice performance boost. Lets see how :

Yakuza 6 – Lag / FPS Drops / Stuttering FIX | Performance Guide

There could be many possible reason for performance issues. We have to make sure that we eliminate the obvious ones.

Lets Start by checking the Requirements :

We normally tend to ignore the fact that performance depends mainly o your system configuration. Forcing a game on a system which is not capable of handling it would only lead to performance issues, severe lag and fps drops. Therefore lest check the requirements for this game and then you can decide whether it should run nicely on your system. I would go somewhere between Minimum and Recommended to atleast have playable frames. The better the config the better will be the performance.

Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 3.2 GHz or AMD FX-6300 3.5 GHz
  • RAM: 4 GB System Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB or AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB
  • HDD: 40GB Available Hard Drive Space
  • DX: DirectX 12

Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 3.4 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz
  • RAM: 6 GB System Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56
  • HDD: 40GB Available Hard Drive Space
  • DX: DirectX 12

Keep Video Drivers Up to Date :

Video drivers are essential for the performance of a game. Outdated drivers are a big no when it comes to performance. Hence make sure you have them updated . Check the link given below if you want to update your GPU drivers.

Turn Off Overlays :

Overlays can be useful but at the same time it takes up a lot of disk space and memory. Therefore we recommend that you have all the overlays turned off especially the ones we have mentioned below:

NVIDIA Overlay :

  • Start Nvidia Geforce Experience
  • Select Settings icon from the top right
  • Select the General Tab
  • Turn Off In-Game Overlay

Discord Overlay :

  • Turn on Discord
  • At the bottom you will find Mute , Deafen and User Settings
  • Click on User Settings
  • On the left you will see the Overlay option
  • Turn off the switch next to Enable in-game Overlay.

Nvidia Control Panel (NVIDIA Users)

Make these changes in your Nvidia Control panel .

  • Open Nvidia Control Panel
  • Select the ‘Adjust image settings with preview’ from the left panel
  • Click on  ‘Use the advanced 3D image settings’
  • Now select Manage 3D settings
  • Then make these changes:
Power Management : Prefer Maximum Performance
Texture filtering Quality : High Performance
    Threaded optimization : On
    Vertical sync : Off
  • Click on Apply

AMD Control Panel (AMD users)

On your desktop just Right click and select AMD Radeon Software. Select the Gaming tab and then Global Graphics. Set the Graphics Profile to “eSport”. Now make the following changes

  • Radeon Anti-Lag : Disabled
  • Radeon Chill : Disabled
  • Boost : Disabled
  • Image Sharpening : Disabled
  • Enhanced Sync : Disabled
  • Vertical Refresh : Always Off

There you go. A few simple steps to get a performance boost. Like I said before if you do not have the right hardware or the right system configuration then all these steps would not make sense. Anyways if the issue persist then it could possibly be a problem from the developer’s side . You might have to wait for the game to get patched.
