eFootball PES 2022 – How to Fix Lag Stuttering and get more performance

football 2022 is finally here on all platforms. It’s free and it’s amazing. Well to be honest graphically the game could have done a lot better. But again, it is free, and I don’t have a reason to complain. The game will feel like a demo when you download it initially with only a few teams but then we are promised a lot of updates which I believe will make things a  lot better.

Well, since it is free a lot of users have downloaded the game. Sadly a lot of them complained about the game not playing smoothly enough for them.  The game would be lagging, stuttering with occasional frame drops making it a very unpleasant experience.

Best Performance Guide for eFootball 2022 :

We need to understand one thing here if we do not have the right PC configuration we would not be enjoying smooth gameplay. A lot of times we try to force run a game on a PC that is just not strong enough for that game and then we complain about performance. Therefore let’s quickly check out the System Requirements for eFootball 2022

Minimum:

    • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-2300, / AMD FX-4350
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: GeForce GTX 660 Ti / Radeon HD 7790
    • Storage: 50 GB available space

Recommended:

    • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-7600 / AMD Ryzen 5 1600
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: GeForce GTX 1060 / AMD Radeon RX 590
    • Storage: 50 GB available space

You need to have a setup equivalent to or better than the recommended requirements for the game to get the best out of it. Anything below the minimum won’t be good enough and you will be having performance issues no matter what.

For users who already have an average to decent PC and are still facing performance issues try reducing all the graphical settings to Low except for Resolution. You can then follow a few steps which I am about to show.

Step 1 :

Firstly you need to get your GPU drivers updated. Always keep the updating river to its latest versions. Click below to check if you have any updates for your GPU

Step 2 :

Turn off all unnecessary background applications like browsers (Google Chrome, Mozilla, etc) or any other program you are running that you do not need. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and check for any running program which you do not need. Even some services like the Service Host: SysMain literally eat up a lot of disks causing frame drops while gaming Try turning it off through this method :

  • On your windows task bar type cmd. Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as an Administrator.
  • Type the following commands: sc stop “SysMain” & sc config “SysMain” start=disabled.
  • You will get a success message in a while. Restart the PC after that

Also make sure all the Overlays like Nvidia, Discord, and Steam are off. They consume a lot of resources and interfere with in-game performance.

Step 3 :

If you have a laptop chances are that the game might be running on your integrated graphics. This could be the reason why you may have a lot of performance issues. Do the following in order to change it to your dedicated GPU.

  • Just type graphics in the windows taskbar. Then select Graphics Settings
  • Under Graphics performance preference click on browse and look for eFootball 2022 exe file. Add that.
  • Now click on Options and select High Performance
  • The game will now run on your dedicated GPU

Step 4 :

Try using these Launch commands on Steam for eFootball 2022 :

  • Go to the game Library on Steam
  • Right-click on eFootball 2022 and select Properties
  • Besides the General tab
  • Now under Launch Options, you would have to type the following commands exactly how I show you: -high -USEALLAVAILABLECORES
  • Restart Steam and Launch the game

Step 5 :

Try doing a file verification on Steam for eFootball 2022. At times missing or corrupted files could lead to poor performance. Running a verification would re-download any missing files Corrupted files will be replaced.

  • In your, Steam Library select eFootball 2022
  • Right-click and select Properties
  • Now besides the Local Files tab click on Verify integrity of game files.
  • It will take a while depending on the size of the game course

If this does not fix the problem probably a Re-installation could do the trick. If it still does not work probably it could an issue with the game which needs to be fixed by a patch. The best bet would be to wait for one if that is the case. Please leave a comment if you feel this guide has been helpful.
