Helldivers 2 is a third-person shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is the sequel to 2015’s Helldivers and is out for the PlayStation 5 and Windows only.
A lot of users are currently encountering an error or a bug that prevents them from joining a lobby. There would be this Error Message ” Failed to join game lobby ” that pops up and no matter how many times they would try, it just doesn’t work.

People have everything, and that includes testing their modem. Nothing seems to work for this problem. Until we discovered a fix that has currently worked for a lot of users.
FIX 1:
Follow these steps:
- Head to Options
- Turn off Crossplay. It is currently bugged and is the main reason why people cannot join lobbies at the moment.
- Now head out of the Biomes selection and select Quickplay.
- It might not happen on the first try but users have confirmed that it worked after a few. So keep spamming Quickplay.
Hopefully, this should work for you as well. Just be patient and spam for a while if it doesn’t but it eventually will. If in case it doesn’t work at all, you can follow the second Fix.
FIX 2:
If the first one is not working for you, use a VPN. It worked for a few users and should also work for you. If you do not have a VPN, you can just type “VPN gate” in Google and use a free one for now.
I believe Crossplay is the main problem here. So the devs would probably be fixing it through a patch.
