How to Unlock Doors and Chests in Hogwarts Legacy?
The wizarding world is full of secrets to discover. Some are out in the open while some of them stay behind locked doors and chests. Alohomora is the basic unlocking spell that is used to open up locked doors and chests.
If you have watched the movies, you would know how easily the spell worked. However, in Hogwarts Legacy, you do not really unlock a door by just casting the spell Instead, you have to play and beat a mini-game that helps you pick the lock.
Firstly you need to remember that the spell Alohomora has a tier list. The higher your spell tier the more complex locks you can pick. For example, you would not be able to pick a tier 3 lock with a tier 1 Alohomora spell.
How to Play Alohomora Lockpicking Mini-Game in Hogwarts Legacy?
Well, this is why we are here, to learn the mini-game. Let me explain how you could easily beat this game.
Once you interact with a lock and cast the Alohomora spell, you get this on the screen. You can see a red and green spark on the dials. You have to use your left and right sticks on the controller to guide these sparks to the dial with the right color. So the green spark goes inside the green dial and the red goes inside the red dial.
In this picture, you see two Gear sets that I have marked in White color. After you have moved the sparks to their specific dials, you need to rotate those dials with your left and right stick again.
As you rotate the dials, the gear sets with the same color also start rotating when you reach a particular position. The green spark in the green dial will rotate the green gears. And the red spark in the red dial will rotate the red gears. Your aim is to rotate both gear sets simultaneously to pick the lock.
The best way to do this is to rotate the green dial first and see at what position the green gears start rotating. Once they do, hold the green dial in that position. Now rotate the red dial until you see the red gears start to move. As soon as the red gears start rotating you would unlock the door or chest because now both the gears are rotating simultaneously.
There you go, that is how you can easily play and beat the Alohomora lockpicking mini-game. It looks very confusing at first because of the dials and the gears and it could take a while to understand what exactly is happening. However, I assure you the moment you get a grip on it, you would be unlocking pretty much every door or chest in Hogwarts Legacy.
