Hogwarts Legacy lets you dive deep into the magical world created by J.K. Rowling. The game is an open-world RPG not limited to just the Hogwarts School but a vast area of the world around the castle.
The outstanding graphics make everything look so beautiful and real. The amount of things we can do in this game makes me wonder if there will ever be a point in the game where I might have nothing to do.
It seems like Hogwarts Legacy could very well be a game of the year contender provided they deliver what they say.
What is the Wizard’s Field Guide?
The main story of Hogwarts Legacy does not build around any of the J.K. Rowling books. The story is completely original and that is what makes the game even more interesting as you have no clue what might unfold next.
If you are talking about the timeline for this story, it takes place a couple of hundred years before the boy who lived and as a result, you might not find any known faces in the game.
Although there is a slight chance of meeting an eleven year old Albus Dumbledore who is probably starting his first year at the school. However, it would only be during your last year at Hogwarts.
In Hogwarts Legacy, you play a character who starts off his schooling days at Hogwarts as a fifth year. There might be an interesting backstory to it but that is how it is. Now you must be wondering how would you even cope with a fifth-year student when you have no idea what everyone had learned in the previous years.
This is the reason why the Ministry of Magic has specially granted you access to the Wizard’s Field Guide which would help you catch up with the fifth-year students. At least that is how the game explains it to you.
How does the Wizard’s Field Guide work in Hogwarts Legacy?
To bring up the Field Guide you would just need to press the Pause button.
This is what the Field Guide looks like. On top, you have the crest of the house you belong to. All around that would basically be all the stuff that you could do in the game, your inventory, your gear, and everything else.
So according to the game, it is a guide that lets you catch up to the other students as you are a late fifth year. However, the Field Guide is just a way developers of this game are handing over to you a guide that keeps track of the missions, side quests, challenges, whatever you have found in the game, your gear, important messages as well as the game settings.
For example, if you head to challenges.
You get this set of Combat Challenges, Quests Challenges, Exploration Challenges, and others that you see in the picture.
All of these have a completion rate, and it increases as you complete more of these challenges. This helps you keep track of how much of this game you are completing.
There is also an option called Quests, that let you see what quests are available to you at that point in time.
The Gear option tells you about the thing you are wearing or have equipped in Hogwarts Legacy. Everything you wear or equip has magical properties. This option helps you with that information.
The Inventory would be the place where you collect all the ingredients. Mainly for potions and all other collectibles that you gather in the game.
The Map reveals the location details of the area you are currently in.
