Invasions Cryomancer Season 3 of Mortal Kombat 1 is here and this time we have Arctic Sub Zero as the main boss. I am not a huge fan of the Invasions mode but I like these Ice based winter outfits that they designed for this season.
The Sub Zero skin is pretty sick, to be honest, and I started grinding just for that one skin. In this guide, we will be talking about how you can easily defeat Arctic Sub Zero.
How to Defeat ARCTIC SUB ZERO Boss in Invasions Season 3 of Mortal Kombat 1
The Arctic Sub Zero is not an easy boss to beat especially when he is just about to die. You will find him sitting in his iconic Mortal Kombat 1 (1995) movie pose summoning an Ice Gloe that freezes everything in range.
A lot of users have no clue what to do at this point and end up getting frozen. I will be helping you all out with a complete guide on how you can easily emerge victorious in this boss fight.
Like every other boss battle, Arctic Subzero will have three rounds as well.
Round 1 & 2:
These rounds are going to be very simple as it starts with a message saying “Use the Element which brings life“.
All you need to do is damage Sub Zero in any way possible and bring his life bar down to 0. I would recommend having a higher attack rating for dealing more damage from physical attacks.
From what I have noticed, Sub Zero just doesn’t care about overhead moves. I recommend picking Omni-Man for this fight as you can get away with spamming his overhead launcher. Keep doing the jump back forward 4 move and you will be amazed at how many times he gets launched.
Also, look out for Sub Zero’s Ice Spear at the beginning of Round 2. It is a mid projectile so your only option is to jump over it. Round 2 is when Sub Zero starts to zone you out which is evident from the fact that he would also hurl a series of Ice Balls at you. You cannot dodge them all so your best bet is to jump over the low ones. If you are lucky you might dodge the one that he throws in the air with the right timing.
Round 3:
Okay, I know this is what we are here for. Round 3 goes on normally until Sub Zero is left with 1 hp. This is when he moves back and sits in his famous pose from the first MK movie. For people who have seen the movie, you know exactly what you need to do here. Through the boss fight you will find a bucket sitting right there in the middle of the stage.
For those who are new or have not watched the original movie, the bucket contains water and that is the key to defeating Sub Zero. Think about the message they gave you at the beginning- “Use the element which brings life“. Water brings life and there is a bucket of water right there sitting in front of you. Yes, it is funny but that is how it is.
Use a special move to push the bucket towards Sub Zero. This is easily achievable by Omni-Man’s Air Slap move (another reason why I picked him). Get behind the bucket and perform Air Slaps (back forward 1) to push the bucket. The moment it enters the globe Sub Zero freezes and dies as the water inside freezes into a really shape and big Icicle.
Liu Kang does this in the movie as well and it is pretty wise of NRS to introduce something related to the movie finally.

The ice spear is not a mid, it is a high so you can duck it :). Also the high ice balls are highs so you can duck those too. Also I just down 1d the bucket and it worked! If you don’t know where the bucket is it is glowing when you need it (I got very lucky for noticing it)
