How to do LI MEI Secret BRUTALITY in Mortal Kombat 1 (MK1)

Mortal Kombat games are known for their exceptionally high level of gore.  That is probably why they got banned so many times but never stopped them. They continued until people accepted it as something exclusive to the franchise.

The Brutalities in Mortal Kombat was introduced way back in MK3 Ultimate where you used to have a long range of inputs. When done successfully, your character would beat down the opponent until they exploded.

However, these Brutalities evolved over time and we have something even cooler nowadays. Mortal Kombat 1 gives you the chance to do several Brutalities for each character as special round-enders.

How to do LI MEI Secret BRUTALITY in Mortal Kombat 1 (MK1)

Apart from the ones mentioned in the Moves List, there are sometimes hidden or secret Brutalities for characters. These trigger a different animation making it look way cooler than the original one.

So far only two have been discovered, one for Li Mei and the other for Omni-Man. In this guide, I will be telling you how you can do Li Mei’s Secret Brutality.

For this, you need to play the character and take her up to level 5.  This is when you unlock the One Way Ticket Brutality and it triggers when you do her lantern move.

The normal input is:

Input- Down Back 2

  • To do the regular Brutality you have to hold Down after the hit lands.

To do the secret or hidden Brutality with alternate animation you have to:

  • Hold Down along with Block+Stance Switch buttons together after the hit lands. So it is basically Down + Fatal Blow input.

Here is what it looks like on different platforms:

  • PlayStation: DB2, after input D+ L2+R2 (hold all)
  • Xbox: DB2, after input D+ LT+RT (hold all)
  • Switch: DB2, after input D+ ZR+ZL (hold all)
  • Keyboard: DB2, after input D+ Block+Stance (hold all)

Note: You can also hold Down first and then hold Block and Stance Switch together with the down button.

The difference in animation is that the body explodes in the hidden one when it flies out of the screen.

There you go, that is how you can do Li Mei’s Secret or Hidden Brutality with Alternate animation in Mortal Kombat 1 (MK1).
