It seems like Valve is trying to make the game easier for everyone this time around. As I said before, Counter-Strike takes years of experience to learn properly. This makes it really difficult for newcomers to survive considering the number of smurfs that dominate the servers at the moment.
So how do you learn to control spray quickly? Well, to be honest, you can’t. You need to practice and the more you train yourself, the better muscle memory you gain when it comes to spraying down enemies.
You would know exactly how much you need to drag down your mouse, to ensure your bullets don’t go all over the place. To make life easier Valve has introduced a new feature called the “Follow Recoil“.
Turn this on and you can actually spray like a god without even breaking a sweat.
- Click on the Settings icon on the top left of your CS2 Home Screen.
- Now go to Game
- Scroll Down to Crosshair
- Set Follow Recoil to Yes.
How is Follow Recoil helpful?
The Follow Recoil is basically a setting that lets your crosshair follow the spray pattern of the gun you are using.
Let’s say you are spraying with your AK-47. Once the first 2 bullets are fired, you will notice that the crosshair starts jumping up and going all over the place. It basically leaves the center of the screen and follows the bullets as they are being fired.
Now all you have to do is keep the crosshair on the target. This is not easy at the beginning but once you get a hang of it, you will be spraying down enemies a lot easily. Hit the practice mode and try to bring the crosshair to the point from where you started spraying.
In other words, you need to move your mouse in the direction opposite to the way your crosshair is moving.
Back in CS GO, good players normally followed the bullet traces to control spray. If you are not used to that, this feature could really help you in the long run. If you manage master it, you will be able to spray down enemies at any range.
