How to Replace a Wrathful Heart in Diablo 4 S1

Wrathful Hearts are the rarest and the most powerful ones in the Diablo 4 Season of the Malignant. There are quite a few versions of this heart that could either be class specific or can be used by everyone.

Class-specific Hearts are really powerful and can make your build outrageously strong. The fact that they are extremely rare and hard to find makes it extremely satisfying when you get one.

Normally in Diablo 4 Hearts cannot be Unsocketed. They can only be replaced by another heart.  However, users seem to be unable to replace a Wrathful Heart. This guide will show you how you can do it easily.

How to Replace a Wrathful Heart in Diablo 4 S1

You need to put the Hearts into a socket with matching color. A Brutal heart goes into a blue socket and you cannot put it into an orange one. This is why users are now looking for jewelry with the right colored sockets to complete their builds.

However, the Wrathful Hearts are the exceptions and you can insert them into a socket of any color. But the only condition is that you cannot have more than one Wrathful heart socketed on your gear.

This leads to a very annoying bug where users would not be able to replace the heart as an error message would pop up saying “You cannot have more than 1 White Malignant Heart equipped”.

The game thinks that you are trying to put two Wrathful Hearts in your Jewelry. It is sad that this bug is not fixed yet and prevents users from replacing the white hearts.

Here is how you fix the problem:

  • Simply Unequip the Jewelry and put it back in your inventory.
  • Now Replace the heart as you would have done while the item is unequipped and in your inventory.
  • It works fine since the game does not care about you putting 2 white hearts in your gear anymore.
  • The other way is to replace the white heart with a colored heart matching the socket of the item. For example, if you have an amulet with a blue socket and you have put a white heart into it, just put a blue heart in that socket to replace the white heart. Then go ahead and place the white heart that you want.
  • I would not recommend the step mentioned above as you clearly destroy a heart for nothing.

This is how users are actually replacing the Wrathful Hearts in the game. It is pretty annoying and I hope they fix this with the next patch.
