LAST EPOCH Keeps CRASHING | How to FIX

If you are a fan of ARPG games then Last Epoch is the one for you. The game is quite similar to the popular Diablo franchise and offers endless replayability to keep users engaged with its content for longer.

However,  it has been a while since its official launch, and the game keeps crashing for most users. If you are one of them, there is nothing to worry about as we have investigated and gathered decent fixes to help you resolve this problem.

LAST EPOCH Keeps CRASHING | How to FIX

Before we hop onto the fixes, let us head back to the basics. Firstly, we need to check if your PC is strong enough to handle this game. If not, chances are you will not be able to enjoy the game until you get an upgrade.

MINIMUM:

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS *: Windows 7
    • Processor: Intel Core i5 2500 or AMD FX-4350
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: nVidia GTX 1060 / AMD RX 580 with 6GB of VRAM
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 22 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: SSD strongly recommended

RECOMMENDED:

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10
    • Processor: Intel Core i5 6500 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: nVidia GTX 3060 or AMD RX 6600-XT with 6GB+ GB of VRAM
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 22 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: SSD strongly recommended

These are the System Requirements according to Steam and if you have a setup anywhere below the minimum requirements, the game will either run horribly or keep crashing. Also, make sure you are running the game on an SSD instead of an HDD to prevent it from frequent crashing.

Important Checks and Downloads:

The next step would be to make sure you have the latest Graphics drivers and Visual Studio.

Deleting the Graphics INI File:

This has fixed the problem for the majority of users. A bugged graphics ini file seemed to be the cause of the random crashes. The ini file is created after launching the game for the first time. It will be created again after you delete it and launch the game again.

Go to : C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\LocalLow\Eleventh Hour Games\Last Epoch

Delete the file ” le_graphicsmanager.ini ” and re-launch the game.

Verifying Game Files:

Coruupetd files may be the reason for the crashes. This worked for many users as well so follow these steps:

  • Go to your Steam Library and select Last Epoch.
  • Now Right Click and go to Properties.
  • Go to Installed Files
  • Click on Verify Integrity of Game File.

Restart the Steam Client and if this does not work, re-download the whole game after uninstalling.

Using Launch Options:

Another that worked for several users would be forcing the game to use all CPU cores and running it on DirectX 12. Here is what you need to do:

  • Go to Last Epoch in your Steam Library
  • Now head to Properties and then General
  • Under Launch Options put these two commands: ” -DX12 “, and” -USEALLAVAILABLECORES “.
  • Do not use the quotes.

Antivirus Issue:

The most common reason is the Antivirus software that you have installed. They often block the exe file of the game considering it to be a threat to your PC. So you either have to create an exception or simply turn off your Antivirus during the time you play Last Epoch.

I am pretty sure these fixes will help you resolve any crash-related problems with Last Epoch.
