I am not a huge fan of the Invasions mode but it definitely is unique on its own. I would have preferred a free-to-roam kind of thing like the Krypt but I guess NRS wanted to make things a bit different this time.
The Invasion mode will last for an entire season until it resets. If you looking for skins and costumes in the game, this is the mode you should be grinding. Although that task might seem really boring if you love to play offline, you wouldn’t mind beating up bots in this game.
Within the mode, there will be several areas or Mesas which have several challenges for you to complete. You start off at the Cage Mansion and then travel to the Fengjian Village via a portal.
In this village, you will encounter the first Major Boss fight against Assassin Kitana. If you are struggling with this fight this is just the right guide for you. I will be showing you how you can easily defeat Assassin Kitna in Mortal Kombat 1 Invasions Mode.
Mortal Kombat 1 (MK1)- How To Defeat Assassin KITANA in Invasions
As the first Major Boss, Assassin Kitana is definitely a tough opponent. There will be 4 stages to the boss fight.
Stages 1 and 2:
This is where you square off one-on-one at the Tea House. You simply need to defeat Kitana in two straight rounds. Be careful of her armored moves and block whenever you see one coming.
During Stage 2 she would glow pink and this is when you start dropping your combos as your movement becomes slow.
I used uppercuts and special moves most of the time to damage her and snatch the win.
Stage 3:
This is the most annoying stage in the entire boss fight. You need to basically play a mini-game where these knives are hurled at you and you have to dodge them.
You need to understand the path that the knives and following. The horizontal knives would simply go above your head and then as it lowers down you need to crouch and then jump and dodge the extremely low ones.
The vertical knives will show you where they land. Just move to the spot where the indicator is not there.
Stage 4:
This stage is only difficult because of the fact that the previous stage will take away most of your HP. As your last fight against Kitana begins, you will notice that she has a pink glowing armor around her, similar to the one that Kameo Sub-Zero does for you.
Do not use any special or basic attack on her. In fact, just keep your distance and block low. She will have armor 100% of the time and the moment you touch her, you will stagger and she will get a free combo.
You will have to be patient and wait until the pink armor disappears. This is when she can be attacked by special moves, but will still have her armored attacks. Try going for uppercuts as much as possible.
After a while you will see her return back to her normal form, this is when you obliterate her. Don’t forget to do a Fatality on her for all the trouble she caused in the fight.
