Palworld is the Pokemon game we never got. If you love that anime this could turn out to be your favorite game. The main objective of the game is to survive alongside mysterious creatures called Pals whom you can either use to fight or make them work on farms or factories.

However, every big game comes with its share of bugs and glitches. For Palworld users are experiencing a Black Screen and the game would instantly Crash.

If you are one of them, you have come to the right place as we will help you fix it.

Palworld Keeps Crashing | How to FIX

There are quite fixes for this problem. Users have been experimenting with different solutions and some of them worked fine. So here is what you need to do:

Requirements, Drivers, and Essential Downloads:

Before we hop into the fixes, you just need to make sure that your PC is strong enough to run this game.

MINIMUM:

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 or later (64-Bit)
    • Processor: i5-3570K 3.4 GHz 4 Core
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: GeForce GTX 1050 (2GB)
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 40 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: An Internet connection is required for multiplayer. SSD required.

RECOMMENDED:

    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 or later (64-Bit)
    • Processor: i9-9900K 3.6 GHz 8 Core

    • Storage: 40 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: An Internet connection is required for multiplayer. SSD required.

These are the System Requirements for Palworld according to Steam. If you have a config below the minimum requirements for this game, chances are it would not launch or just crash.

Also, make sure that you have the latest video drivers updated for your GPU.

Click on these links to check if you have a pending update for your GPU driver. Outdated ones could easily make the game crash.

Lastly, you need to have the latest version of Visual Studio installed on your PC otherwise the game crashes with an error code like  “vcruntime140_1.dll missing” or “MSVCP140.dll was not found”.

Download from here->  Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64)

After the download is complete, select the file vc_redist.x86.exe, right-click on it, and select “Run as administrator”. Then proceed with the installation.

Creating a Shortcut:

This is a weird fix but it worked for some users. You need to create a shortcut of the game exe file and then run it from that shortcut.

  • Go to Steam Library
  • Select Palworld
  • Right-click and go to Manage>Browse Local Files
  • Right-click on the Palworld exe file and Create a Shortcut.
  • Restart  Steam.
  • Run the game from the Shortcut.

Forcing DX 12 for Palworld:

Forcing DirectX 12 made the game playable for many users. The crash and the black screen problem were fixed.

  • Go to Steam Library
  • Select Palworld
  • Right-click and go to Properties
  • Under Launch Option type ” -DX12 ” (without the quotes).
  • Restart Steam and launch the game.

Using All Cores:

It seems like the game is not utilizing all the cores of the CPU. As a result, it keeps crashing for many users. Put this in the launch options:

  • Go to Steam Library
  • Select Palworld
  • Right-click and go to Properties
  • Under Launch Option type ” -USEALLAVAILABLECORES ” (without the quotes).
  • Restart Steam and launch the game.

Antivirus Issue:

At times the Antivirus software that you run often considers the exe files of games as threats and blocks them. Which is why you normally see a Black Screen followed by a Crash. To fix this, just temporarily turn off your ANtivirus or create an exception for the Palworld exe file.

Verify Palworld Game Files:

Corrupted or missing files could also be the reason. So if none of the steps above work, go ahead and do this:

  • Go to Steam Library
  • Select Palworld
  • Right-click and go to Properties
  • Go to Installed Files
  • Click on Verify Integrity of Game Files.

Wait for a while as the Steam would scan for the game files. Any missing or corrupted file would be re-download.

If these steps don’t work try Re-installing the game as a last resort.
