Resident Evil 8 Village – Users cannot download the game from Steam | How to Fix Downloading Error
The wait is finally over as the new Resident Evil Village is finally out on all platforms. PC users however are facing a little trouble when it comes to downloading the game. The download would just be stuck at 0 kbps. Well, you can actually get it fixed. This is how you can fix it :
Restarting the Steam Client and your Desktop :
Restarting Steam could be an easy fix to this. If that does not work try restarting your PC. It generally resets the system state as well as it clears out the system cache. Therefore it could resolve the problem and eliminate any downloading errors.
Patience is Key :
A lot of times we feel that the download is stuck when it is not. Even when the download speed is 0 kbps. It probably takes time to allocate the disk space required. Resident Evil Village is a large game. Therefore the time it will take for allocating the disk space will be longer. Just be patient for a while. You can click on the play icon and see if the blue bar is progressing or not. If not then follow the steps given below.
Clear Download Cache:
Download Cache could be the culprit. Try clearing it out this way :
- Launch the Steam Client
- Look for the Steam option on the top left
- Click on Settings.
- Then select Downloads
- Now Click on Clear Download Cache
Steam Library Folder Issue:
The Steam Library Folder has to be writable by all users for which special permission is required. If this permission is missing then you need to repair the folder.
- Launch the Steam Client
- Locate and select the Steam option from the top left
- Now select Settings.
- On the left find and select Downloads
- Click on Steam Library Folders on the top
- You can now see the folder you have steam installed. Right-click on it and select Repair Library Folder
Download Region problem:
Your Download region could be one of the most common problems. Steam has servers set up in different locations all around the globe. Now the server of a region could be overloaded with users, it could be under maintenance or it there could be technical difficulties. Steam allows you to therefore change your download region to get a better experience with much faster download speeds.
- Launch the Steam Client
- Click on the Steam option on the top left
- Then select the Settings option
- From the left-hand side select Downloads
- Under Download Region you will see a small drop-down arrow. Click on that and you will get a list of download regions you can choose from. You might have to select a few and try to see which one works best for you
- Restart Steam after that.
