We are almost at the end of a really long wait. Starfield will undoubtedly be a revolution in the gaming industry. Imagine an RPG where your map will be the entire galaxy making it one of the most anticipated games of the year.
Starfield comes with 3 different Editions- Standard, Premium, and Constellation.
While each Edition has some benefits over the other, it might get confusing for users to actually decide which one would be the ideal one to buy.
Which Starfield Edition to Buy?
If you are having a tough time deciding which Starfield Edition to go for, there is no need to worry. In this guide, we will be explaining everything in detail and also telling you a way you can minimize the amount you spend on the game.
Comparing Editions:
Standard Edition ($69.99/£69.99) | Digital Premium ( $99.99/£99.99) |

Shattered Space Story Expansion (upon release) |
No Artbook or Original Soundtrack |
Access to Starfield Digital Artbook & Original Soundtrack |
Apart from these two you also have the Constellation Edition which gives you:
- Steelbook Case
- Constellation Patch
- Starfield Chronomark Watch and Case
But this will cost you around $299. It is way too expensive so I would not recommend buying this one.
You can also get the Physical Copy of the Premium Digital Upgrade and receive:
- Steelbook Case
- Constellation Patch
Which one to buy? Standard or Premium?
It is pretty clear that the Premium Edition is better but you also need to pay the extra 30 bucks. If you ask me, the Story Expansion is actually the highlight of the Edition.
Early Access for a game like Starfield is not required for casual players unless you are a content creator or a streamer and paying the extra cash for the skins would not be a good idea. However, the story expansion could be worth it depending on how much extra playtime it provides.
As of now, we do not have any information about the playtime and contents of the expansion pack but I am sure it would be pretty good.
So you can easily go for the Premium Edition if you really want to enjoy all of the content. However, for more casual gamers the Standard Edition is just fine. You can buy the Digital Premium Upgrade as well later on.
A great deal would be getting Xbox or PC Game Pass which lets you play the game from day one. The Pass gives you the Standard Edition for just the subscription cost and you can easily upgrade to Premium Edition for $34. Get the Game Pass for a month or two and then go for the upgrade before the 1st of September.
This way you can save a lot of money unless you are willing to play the game for a whole year which I don’t think would be the case.
That is all you need to know about which Starfield Edition to go for.
