Starfield Download Size with DLC

Starfield is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game features not just a random location in our world but the entire galaxy.

That is how vast Starfield is going to be and it will be interesting to see if the game would live up to the expectations.

Starfield gives us a lot of places to explore with tons of customizations for your spacecraft as well as your character. Coupled with that would be mind-blowing graphics that make everything look realistic and vibrant.

All of these features would make any game eat up a lot of space on your hard drive. So if you are wondering how much storage you need for Starfield, this is just the right guide for you.

Starfield Download Size

Here are the System Requirements for Starfield according to Steam.

Minimum:

    • OS: Windows 10 version 21H1 (10.0.19043)
    • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, Intel Core i7-6800K
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5700, NVIDIA GeForce 1070 Ti
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Storage: 125 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: SSD Required

Recommended:

    • OS: Windows 10/11 with updates
    • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, Intel i5-10600K
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080
    • DirectX: Version 12
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 125 GB available space
    • Additional Notes: SSD Required

Note that the game requires an SSD instead of an HDD. That is because HDDs are pretty slow and do not provide stable performance when it comes to gaming. Especially true for games like Starfield with excellent visual depth.

Also, the Storage Space required for the installation of the game is 125 GB but it does not specify for which version. The Premium Edition would have an additional Story Expansion, more like a DLC that might get added in the future. I am pretty sure that would add more to the Storage space for Starfield.  There will also be patches and updates added to the storage as well.

So if you ask me, the overall Storage Space you might need for this game should be around 150-160GB for Premium Editions only. If you do not wish to purchase the DLC it may be around 135GB for you.

But the download size of the game on Day 1 (without patches and DLC) will be the same as mentioned in Steam which is 125 GB.

That is all you need to know about the total Download Size for Starfield including the DLC.
