Tekken 8 is just around the corner and fighting game fans could not be more excited. Easily the most popular fighting game franchise in history, Tekken 8 would probably set a benchmark for others.
I was lucky enough to try out the Closed Network Test and the Beta Playtest for the game and trust me, the game is undoubtedly the best the franchise has seen so far.
Tekken 8 comes in 4 Editions- The Standard, Delux, Ultimate, and the Collectors Edition. If you are wondering which one you should get, here is the right guide for you.
Which TEKKEN 8 EDITION Should You Buy?
Firstly, the Collector’s Edition would cost you $300 and I would not recommend buying it. Unless you are a die-hard Tekken fan and you do not care about spending $300 on Tekken 8 and some goodies like Leroy’s ring, the Steelbook, and a 25cm tall Jin sculpture.
Users would mostly be confused about the other 3 Editions which I would help you with.
Let’s see what the three Tekken 8 Editions have to offer:
Bonuses | Standard Edition ($69.99) | Deluxe Edition ($99.99) | Ultimate Edition ($109.99) |
Full Game | YES | YES | YES |
Playable 1-Year Pass | NO | YES (4 DLC Characters) | YES (4 DLC Characters) |
Character Costume Gold Suit (32 Costumes) | NO | YES | YES |
Avatar Skin Kinjin | NO | YES | YES |
Avatar Costumes Classic Tekken T-Shirt Set (32 designs) | NO | NO | YES |
Avatar Costume Paul Phoenix | NO | YES (Pre Order Only) | YES(Pre Order Only) |
Avatar Costume Mokujin & Tetsujin | NO | YES (Pre Order for PS5 only) | YES (Pre Order for PS5 only) |
Avatar Costume: Jin, Kazuya & Jun | NO | NO | YES |
Which Edition to Get?
As you can see, the only differences between the Deluxe and the Ultimate Edition are the Avatar Costumes which are specific to the new Arcade Quest Mode.
If you are someone who does not care about character customizations or basically the Gold Costumes, I would suggest you take the Standard Edition. It is for the more casual player base who just wants to have fun playing a fighting game with their friends. Remember, you will also be missing out on the Year Pass that includes 4 DLC characters.
However, if you are a Tekken enthusiast, the Deluxe Edition is the one you should go for. The main reason is the 1-Year Pass that gives you access to the 4 DLC Characters when they launch. Also, the gold skins do look great in the game.
If you are someone who is willing to invest time in the new Arcade Quest Mode for Tekken 8, the Ultimate Edition should be perfect for you. But the mode is offline but certainly has an interesting concept trying to take you back to the days when Arcades used to be extremely popular in the gaming community.
For me, I am more of an “Online Only” guy so buying the Deluxe Edition makes more sense to me.
